Sarah Kadden, LMSW, MAR, is program manager of RULER for Early Childhood at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence.  She provides professional development training and support as well as content and connectivity for the Early Childhood community.  Prior to joining the Center, she worked in community, non-profit, Early Childhood, and public school settings as an educator, social worker, professional development provider, and organizer. As part of Shelburne Farms’ Sustainable Schools Project she was instrumental in the development of the nation’s first public elementary school devoted to Education for Sustainability, provided training in that field to educators across the country, and contributed to Cultivating Joy and Wonder: Educating for Sustainability in Early Childhood Through Nature, Food, and Community.   Her interests converge around child development, social justice pedagogy and policy and change, and teacher practice.  She is a licensed social worker and certified educator in the state of Connecticut, holds a dual B.A. in sociology and religion from Mount Holyoke College, an M.A.R in ethics from Yale University, an M.S.W focused on school practice from Southern Connecticut State University, and completed an apprenticeship in experiential education at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, Vermont.
