Sarah Free, M.S., is the Program Manager for RULER for Middle Schools. Sarah earned B.A.s in Psychology and Philosophy from the College of the Holy Cross, and her M.S. in Special Education from Dominican University. Prior to joining the Center, she served as a high school and middle school Special Education teacher on Chicago’s South Side. In this capacity, she developed and taught ten different courses for 8th -12th grade, founded the varsity softball program and the high school’s Queer-Straight-Alliance, and was a founding member of the school’s anti-racism committee. Sarah was the co-author of a 2016 study published in the journal Eating Behaviors, that focused on emotion regulation and disordered eating. She enjoys reading educational and legal philosophy and theory, running, and maintaining a creative writing blog.
