Ruth Castillo Gualda, Ph.D. is a Psychologist with a specialization in social and emotionally learning. Ruth is a certified RULER trainer and coach, who has collaborated with the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence since 2010. Ruth is the RULER Project Coordinator in Spain and consultant for high school RULER implementation in Mexico.

Ruth received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Granada and her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Emotional Intelligence from the University of Málaga. Her Ph.D. dissertation was co-supervised by Prof. Marc A. Brackett.

Dr. Castillo is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Health at Universidad Camilo José Cela. Previously she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Biological and Health Psychology Department, Faculty of Psychology, at Autonoma University of Madrid. She is the co-author of several scholarly articles and communications that address the significance of Emotional Intelligence on psychological functioning and well-being. She has also collaborated on research projects focused on the promotion of healthy youth development.
